Ski resorts in Turkey
Which resort for your first season?
A first season does not need a big resort. It needs a short journey, low cost and the freedom to call it off.
Short answer
For a beginner, resort size barely matters: in a first season you use a small part of any network. What decides the day is travel time, total cost and the freedom to cancel when conditions are poor. Small resorts near big cities are usually the better first attempt.

What this ranking tells you
The list below is not sorted small to large but by logic: resorts under 25 km of network. The reason is simple — in a first season you cannot use 55 km any more than 20 km, but the smaller resort is cheaper, closer and less crowded.
The second criterion is the journey. Someone starting to ski after a five-hour drive is already tired, and the goal of day one is not to ski well but to enjoy it. A resort two hours from a big city serves that far better than one six hours away.
The third is being able to change your mind. Where a day trip is possible, cancelling on a bad morning costs almost nothing. A booked overnight trip removes that, and a first experience on an icy or foggy day is what stops people trying again.

Reading the numbers
You will see different figures elsewhere. Usually the reason is method, not error.
Why lift counts here are lower than official figures
This catalogue counts only named mechanical lines; magic carpets in learning areas are excluded. Erciyes's official source states 19 installations while this catalogue says 14 — the difference is five carpets. That is a definitional gap, not a contradiction, but mixing the two figures in one table produces a false comparison.
How slope length is measured
Length is the one-way total across all runs. Turkish sources frequently publish figures around double this, usually because runs were counted in both directions or an early error propagated. When you see a near-doubling, question the method first.
